The operation steps are as follows:
1. Select the data area to be filtered (should leave headings at the beginning of each column for the correct operation). Click the Data tab, select the Filter icon as shown

2. Click the arrow Filter drop-down arrow at the top of the column to be filtered, and select Text Filters or Number Filters.
3. Click to select the appropriate comparison. For example, to choose numbers between minimum and maximum limit, choose Between.

4. In the Custom AutoFilter box, select the range to filter the data. For example, to display all numbers between 1,000 and 7,000; in the “is greater than or equal to” field, enter 1000 and enter 7000 in the “is less than or equal to” field.

5. Click OK
Filter data in tables

To quickly filter data, you do the following:
1. Click the Filter drop-down arrow at the top of the column to filter the data
2. In the displayed numeric or alphanumeric list, uncheck Select All at the top of the list, and then check the boxes containing the desired data displayed in the table

3. Click OK
4. The Filter drop-down arrow is now changed to an Applied filter icon to indicate that a filter has been performed. Click to change or delete the filter

Highlighting text or cells is a great tip to highlight information that needs attention. Data Filter function also allows to filter cells by color if the cells have been formatted by color or the Conditional Formatting function. The steps are as follows:
1. Click the Filter drop-down arrow at the top of the column
2. Hover your mouse to Filter by Color and select the cell or text color to filter.

3. Click OK
