However, each printer has a different type of printer and they have a different CMYK color specification. So I recommend that you use the RGB color system on your software and when sending to print, asking them to adjust the CMYK color system like that will be more standard.

Resolution

Resolution or DPI is a measure of the resolution of an image. For design products such as Flyer, Catalog, poster, you should set the resolution to 300 dpi and for large banners like 5mx2m, only need to set 100 dpi.

The reason is because products such as flyers, catalogs are portable products so the visibility will be very close, so the resolution must be large, and for large banners, the visibility will be quite far and will not need a large resolution.

Convert layer mask, layer style, adjustment layer, group

Adobe Illustrator is a vector graphic design software, so it will not use customizations such as layer mask, layer style or adjustment layer. If you leave these layers intact and convert them to Ai file, the file will be corrupted. The way to convert is as follows:

  • Adjustment layer: Right click the icon of Adjustment layer and choose rasterize layer
  • Layer mask: Right click on the layer mask icon and choose apply layer
  • Group: Select the group and click on the trash can icon below. Then the computer will show us two options: delete the layers in the group or delete the shell, choose to delete the shell group.
  • Layer style: If you are using layer style to choose color, right click on the layer and choose clear layer style and choose normal color for the text.
  • Image: right mouse select rasterize layer
