Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 Manual

Adobe Premiere Pro (AP) is a professional editing program from Adobe, is one of many popular graphics software in the Adobe Creative suite.
(Here I use AP CS5, older versions can apply)

Friendly interface with typical gray color, AP is a video editing program with a relatively easy to use interface, has some similarities with other graphics software such as Sony Vegas, Proshow, ...

We can choose between Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 or Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.

To start with AP, we should learn about the standard video standard rates today use.

FIND VIDEO RATIO

There are 2 basic ratios to consider that are 4: 3 and 16: 9, there is another ratio that is 21: 9 (often used to create large space for the scene). 4: 3 is the ratio that most television stations broadcast, 16: 9 is the ratio of most LCDs today.

We do a comparison:
- Thus: source 4: 3 displayed on 16: 9 wants the image to fill the screen, of course it is stretched out to 2 sides, resulting in the image will be "dwarfed".
-> To summarize with the competition requirements of Let's On Air, the video clip that must be used in 16: 9 aspect ratio will match the LCD in campus A and facility B.

In addition, you can choose HDV (if the format is HD) 1440: 1080, or 21: 9 depending on your preference.

STORYBOARD (SB)

SB is really important in expressing script ideas on video clips. It was like a "translation" sent by the editor for filming and post-production. But sometimes we do not pay attention to SB, so it is impossible to convey all the scriptwriter's ideas, do not "construct" perfectly the "imagination" of the editor.

The SB concept I quote in Animation is: SB is a structured device to visually represent script ideas and stories.

Simple. SB is a script that is not written in writing, but is transmitted in pictures!

SB examples:

Any form of SB, SB must contain a certain amount of information for the post-script jobs to follow. Basic structure includes:

  • Scene number
  • Page number
  • Frame to draw on

Note

*PROCESS:

When starting an SB, filming or editing should read the script carefully, visualize all the actions in mind, then tick the script the important details to show on the SB.

Once marked, check again if necessary to add or remove.

Then you proceed to draw on SB the ideas already in mind and script content.

When drawing drawing notes as simple as possible that you still understand at the second look. In the Notes box, you should write in a certain amount of information to simplify the work of the technique later. .

Is the standard structure of an SB arbitrary?

-> Okay. As long as it has the information as outlined above and is as simple as possible for you.

The structure of my SB often uses an equivalent form as follows:
