Block phone number contacts

There are several ways to block a phone number or contact:

- On the Phone app:
If you are using the Phone app, at Recents (Recent), find the phone number or contact you want to block, then click on the i-shaped icon in the circle. Scroll down the screen and click Block this Caller.

- On FaceTime:
If you're using FaceTime, tap the i-shaped icon in the circle next to the phone number or contact you want to block. Scroll down to the bottom corner of the screen, find and tap Block this Caller.

- On Messages:
If you're using Messages, open the conversation, then tap on the i-shaped icon in the circle next to the phone number or contact you want to block. Scroll down to the bottom corner of the screen, find and tap Block this Caller.

When blocking a phone number or contact, the other person can still leave voicemail, but you won't get notification. Also, the person you block will not receive any calls or notifications saying they have been blocked.

How To Block Messages On Macbook/Iphone

To view the phone numbers and contacts that you have blocked on Phone, FaceTime or Messages app, follow the steps below:

- On the Phone app:
Open Settings => Phone => Call Block & Identification.

- On FaceTime:
Go to Settings => FaceTime => Blocked.

- On Message:
Go to Settings => Messages => Blocked.

From this screen you can add or unblock a contact or unblock a phone number.

To add a contact, scroll down to the bottom of the Blocked list, click Add New, and then select the contact you want to block.

To unblock a contact or any phone number, on the Blocked list, click Edit in the top right corner, click the icon, then click Unblock.

You can filter iMessages from people for whom you have not saved contacts in Macbook.

To filter iMessages, go to Settings => Messages, find and switch Filter Unknown Senders option to ON.

On Message, you will see a new tab called Unknown Senders, but you do not receive notification of these iMessages.

You can report the iMessages as spam or spam messages on the Messages app. If you receive iMessages from a stranger and you do not have the number in your contacts, you will see the Report Junk link below the message. Click that link to forward the sender information and send the message to Apple.

- Take screenshots of messages on iOS devices.
